Also during the event, the Associations of Physics Students will present themselves.

In 2011, the introduction will take place at September 2nd.

Introduction to Amsterdam

Every year in September the physics students associations of UvA and VU organise a social event for first year master students to get to know student life in Amsterdam.
It  includes a boat trip over the Amsterdam canals and a tour through the night life of the city.

In September you will receive an invitation by email.

Celebrating the start of the second semester

Shortly after the start of the second semester, you will be invited to a get-together with all students of the Master's Physics. Again this event is organised for you by the association of students of the UvA.

The event will take place Spring, 2012.

Amsterdam Master of Physics Symposium

Second year Master students in Physics compete for the Amsterdam Master of Physics Award for the best presentation of their Master thesis research project at the yearly Amsterdam Master of Physics Symposium. Both Physics students and staff are invited to attend the symposium to select the winner of the Prize of the Public. A jury of distinct physicists of other Dutch universities are invited to select the winner for the Amsterdam Master of Physics Award. The winner receives a money prize of Euro 400.

The next edition of the symposium will be April 27th, 2012.

Fysica 2011

The Dutch Physics Society organises every year a symposium for physicists working and studying in the Netherlands. The Fysica-symposium is an excellent opportunity to get to know physics research in the Netherlands. All presentations will be in English. Both first year and second year master students Physics are encouraged to attend the symposium.

This year, the symposium will be organised by the Univerity Twente in Enschede in May, 2012.
